ABOUT USStephens Butchers, established by Melvin Stephens, was originally established on Northload St in 1979 and moved into existing premises in 1993 – when Melvin retired in 2003 Steve took over until 2022. The business has now been taken over by the longstanding apprentice, Louis, and continues under his management.
Stephens Butchers has existed in its present form since 2003 and today we boast over 120 years experience between our five butchers. Paul and Steve have been in the trade for 40 years each, Darren for 16 years, Ellen for 20 years and Louis, who started as Steve’s apprentice, has been with us 8 years and has now taken over from Steve as the owner of Stephens Butchers.
